Ghana Economy Not Rotten To The Core- Finance Ministry Fires

The Ministry of Finance has responded to Bloomberg claims that Ghana’s economy is in distress.

According to the Finance Ministry, the country’s economy is very stable and it has not rotten to the core.

Speaking on Wontumi Radio Morning Show, the Deputy Finance Minister, Lawyer John Kumah ascertained that, Bloomberg gave wrong historical debt to the GDP figures and has apologized to that.

Lawyer John Kumah disclosed that the country’s GDP in the first to third quarters of 2021, GDP growth were 3.3%, 3.9% and 6.6% respectively.

“We admit there is hardship in the system but the blame should be channelled to COVID-19. If NDC were in power, it will have taken us to IMF by now,” he told Oheneba Nana Asiedu.

The Deputy Finance Minister urged Ghanaians to repose faith in the government hence everything will return to normalcy.
