A university lecturer has questioned the rationale behind the National Democratic Congress’ opposition to the use of the Ghana card as a form of sole identification for voter registration.
Dr. Solomon Kwarteng Forkuo rebuked the stance of the NDC on Wontumi TV noting that their position was wrong judging from how superior the Ghana card is to the voter card.
“We don’t need the voter card to vote, we need Ghana card. This is how it is done in advanced countries. Ghana card contains all biometric details of every individual. Why is the NDC fighting against the progress of this nation?” he questioned.
He revealed that the Ghana card registration exercise was rolled out; the leadership of the NDC cautioned their members not to partake in the exercise.
He continued that decision has cost the NDC dearly because they know they would suffer in the next elections when the Ghana card is used.
