Friends Of ‘NAPO’ Donates To 12 Schools On His 54TH Birthday.

A group by name Friends of Napo on Monday morning donated education materials including home economics equipment valued at several thousands of cedis to Twelve (12) Basic and Junior High Schools in the Manhyia-South Community.

The donation was to mark the 54th birthday of the Member of Parliament for the area, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, who also doubles as the Energy Minister.

Items donated by the group which included constituency executives in Manhyia-South consisted of exercise books, pens as well as sewing machines.

At a brief ceremony at the Roman Catholic Primary and JHS at Mbrom, a suburb of Manhyia South, Nana Timmah Boakye, Member of Friends of Napo said, ‘we are here to donate these items to the schools and by it honor our favorite MP who is celebrating his 54th birthday today’.

CONSTITUENCY CHAIRMAN:

Extolling the Manhyia-South legislator, Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori-Atta, Constituency Chairman for NPP said the MP had contributed immensely to education and other developmental aspects of the constituency.

He noted that currently, the MP had constructed a library in the host school to encourage learning and research in pupils in the community.

Popularly referred to as ‘’TOMTOM’’, the constituency Chairman urged pupils from the 12 schools to take their education seriously, adding that they too could rise to become like ‘Napo’in future.

Mr Ofori-Atta prayed for good health and favor from God for the legislator who was recently named as the best Minister in Ghana, a feat the MP has chalked for three times.

CELEBRATIONS:

Eating and dancing to music at the event during break time, pupils from the 12 schools lauded the efforts of the Manhyia-South famous legislator.

Faustina Amankwah, JHS 1 pupil at St Anne’s Anglican JHS said the MP has been donating to her school from the time she was in class one (1).

Mathias NKRUMAH, a pupil from the DichemsoM/A JHS prayed for long life for the Energy Minister and pleaded that he continues to invest in the education of children in the constituency.

Crowning the day, the school children and members of the Friends of Napo together cut a cake and sang songs to the glory of God on behalf of Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh.
