Free SHS: Needy Children Can Now Acquire SHS Education, Abro Commends Akufo-Addo
A Businessman, Mawuli Ekpe Peter a.k.a. Abro, has commended President Akufo-Addo greatly for introducing the free SHS policy.
He said that this has enabled needy but brilliant students to also acquire Senior High School education without paying fees.
The former NDC Vice Chairman for the Nhyiaeso Constituency made this reference to a directive by President Akufo-Addo that one particular needy student who obtained 8As in the WASSCE results should be given full scholarship.
In an interview with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi Radio/TV’s Morning Show, Abro said that, the Child prayed to God to touch the heart of someone to help him further his education and lo and behold, God has touched the heart of Nana Akufo-Addo.
Mr. Mawuli said that, some years ago, the needy but brilliant students were not able to further their education because of financial problems but due to the free SHS they can now acquire secondary school education.
He bemoaned that, most children living in the rural areas are finding it more difficult to learn due of lack of electricity.
“I’m appealing to all children to stick to their books because the barrier between JHS and University is the SHS.” He noted
He appealed to parents and beneficiaries of the free SHS to preach the gospel of the policy to others.
