Free SHS: Buffer Stock Company Supplies Food Items To SHS’ Ahead Of Reopening(PICTURES)

The National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), has supplied food items to various Senior High Schools ahead of reopening on Wednesday, 5/01/2022.

The beneficiary schools were Opoku Ware SHS, T.I Ahmadiyya SHS, Osei Kyeretwie SHS, St. Louis Girls SHS, Afua Kobi SHS among others.

Speaking in an interview with Wontumionline’s Nana Owusu Achiaw, the Deputy Minister of Education, Rev. Dr Ntim Fordjour indicated that the government doesn’t want the students to resume school before supplying the foods hence the provision.

According to Rev. Dr Ntim Fordjour, the food will sustain the students from 5/01/2022 till vacation.

“Food is no problem. Parents and students should remain calm for everything is at stake ahead of the reopening,”

The Deputy Minister of Education asserted that President Akufo- Addo is not giving up on his vision to transform the education system of the nation.

For his part, the Ashanti Regional Free Senior High School Coordinator, Owusu Brobbey, commended the Education Minister for fulfilling his promise of providing food to the schools before the reopening.

He assured that every school will receive its food and the money it needs for the purchasing of ingredients by the close of today.

Owusu Brobbey urged parents to let their wards report to school tomorrow and prepare for the end of the 2nd-semester exam.

“We thanked the President for addressing our concern. We know that going forward, he will not let disaster occur before he deals with it,” some headmasters chipped in.

They added that the Akufo- Addo government will not disappoint parents.

The headmasters appealed to parents to allow their wards to report to school to prepare for the end of semester exams.
