Former Manhyia North MP Urges NPP Faithfuls To Embrace Membership Drive
A former Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North Constituency, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwaa, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) faithfuls to embrace the proposed reformation of the party’s membership drive by the General Secretary, John Boadu.
He revealed that he supports the reformation of the membership drive wholeheartedly.
Speaking on the Nsempa fie programme on Wontumi Radio/TV, the former MP said that, political party is formed to win power adding that, party gives birth to government and that it makes the party as an important organization.
Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwaa indicated that, the NPP is not a fun club so it has its constitution.
“The reforms proposal John Boadu has hinted don’t contradict with the country’s constitution so we should all give it a review. Political party is about getting numbers and how you increase the membership drive is an important tool.” He said
He told the sit in host of the programme, Chairman Wontumi that, The NPP has become interesting, and what can make the supporters be recognized as party faithfuls is their membership card.
He noted that, this is not the first time NPP is reforming its membership drive.
Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwaa however tasked the party leaders to go to the grass roots and listen to the plight of the people.
He emphasized that, the ruling NPP can break the 8 year cycle if they start running the campaign from the polling stations.
