Deputy General Secretary for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, has charged President Akufo-Addo to fire any Chief Executive for the various Assemblies who fails to help in the party’s vision to break the 8-year political cycle.
The Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Hon. Dan Botwe is expected to announce candidates President Akufo-Addo has nominated.
But Nana Obiri Boahen is of the view that before 2023, any Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) who fails to pull his or her weight for the NPP must be fired by the Minister to ensure the party maintains political power.
“The names which would come out, if any of them can’t help the NPP win 2024, they must be fired”, he strongly posited on Wontumi TV.
From the archives of the NPP, the deputy General Secretary revealed that the party lost Parliamentary seats in 60 constituencies due to bad relationship between some DCEs and party members.
