FC Porto Sign Ghanaian Wonder-Kid Benicio Baker-Boaitey
The Portuguese top-flight club have completed the signing of the teen sensation in the ongoing summer transfer window.
English-born of Ghanaian descent Benicio Baker-Boaitey has officially joined Portuguese heavyweights FC Porto on a free transfer.
The 16-year-old highly-rated attacker signed a long-term contract with the Estádio do Dragão outfit after passing a mandatory medical test.
Kickgh.com understands that the budding star will be drafted into the FC Porto U17 team to aid his development.
Baker-Boaitey turned down pro-contract offered by his club, West Ham United in July
He had been travelling across Europe meeting with interested clubs which Bayern Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach have both been in contact.
The teen sensation was also chased by Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona earlier this year.
The nimble left-footed starlet has already been tipped for greatness due to his promising outings with the WestHam United U16 side.
He also featured for Chelsea youth team before moving to West Ham United.
FC Porto will only pay £200,000 compensation fee to West Ham over Boaitey development should they land his signature this summer.
Benicio Boaitey is still eligible to play for Ghana despite featuring for the England U16 side.
