The Ahafo regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Owusu Sekyere, has taken a swipe at some government officials defending embattled former Minister of Sanitation, Madam Cecilia Dapaah over the heist that took place at home.
The former minister is reported to have lost $1million and €300,000 through theft at her private home.
Clement Wilkinson, the MCE of Ga West defend the minister by stating that the money she kept home is most likely to have come from donations she received from funerals.
According to The MCE, Cecilia Dapaah lost her mother and brother within a year, and the millions of dollars could be funeral donations.
But Kwabena Owusu Sekyere rubbished the explanation stating that even the families of pop star Michael Jackson and reggae legend Bob Marley did even receive funeral donations in the region of $1Million and €300,000 despite the impact they have in the world.
He was quick to snap that if that was the case of the two legends, he wonders the special funeral Cecilia Dapaah held to receive such gargantuan donations.
Kwabena Owusu Sekyere warned government appointees not to defend the minister with flimsy arguments since it will anger Ghanaians.
He therefore charged the Office of the Special Prosecutor to look into the matter and prosecute.
