A Senior Lecturer at the Department of Political Science Education at the University of Education Winneba, Dr. Ebenezer Teye Amanor Lartey, has advised President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to consider the views of his party members and Ghanaians on the call for reshuffling.
Dr. Amanor’s comment comes at the back of President Akufo-Addo’s response to the demand for reshuffling by party members and Ghanaians.
Speaking at the North Star Radio in Tamale President Akufo-Addo said that ”many of them for me have done outstanding work. Their output have been considerable, and that is what I look at. If the output measures expectations, then I don’t have any strong reasons to heed the call. The calls come for all kinds of reasons; NDC wanting to destabilize the government is one. There are people who are also looking for jobs”.
Dr. Teye said that ”we are not calling for their dismissal, we are calling for reshuffling. It means the person might not be fit for his current role but will do better at other areas. President Akufo-Addo should consider the views of party members. The voice of the people is the call of God. To avoid the disaffection of party members and government, President should consider their views”.
He advised President Akufo-Addo not to send a signal that government does not want to listen to his people.
