Fadama emerged victorious at the three-day Youth Peaceful Elections Unity Soccer Gala held at the Kawukudi astroturf park in Nima from September 21 to 23, 2024.

The tournament aimed at promoting peace and unity ahead of the 2024 general election was widely patronised after 16 communities in the Greater Accra gathered for a prize of GHC10,000, which was later doubled by musician and youth icon Stonebwoy.

The tournament’s slogan ‘One Goal, One Vote’ is the message being sent across to the youth as the country heads for another democratic exercise.

Stonebwoy stole the moment to preach peace to the young people, who came to witness the event, advising Ghanaians to put the country first and desist from tribal politics.

Fadama 133 defeated Sabon Zongo 3-2 on penalties to walk home with the trophy and prize money after a thrilling final. Both teams displayed exceptional football, making them the two best communities at the competition.

Scouts from a cross the country and beyond graced the occasion as the young footballers exhibited their enormous talents to the excitement of the fans watching.

Before the final, Accra Newtown defeated 441 Nima to clinched third place.

Meanwhile, organiser of the competition Awalu Angulu expressed satisfaction with the turnout of the tournament as he celebrated the winners while championing the message of peace and unity.
