EXCLUSIVE: Ghanaian Attacker Kevin-Prince Boateng To Sign New Hertha Berlin Deal

Ghanaian attacker Kevin-Prince Boateng is set to sign a new contract with Hertha Berlin after impressing the club’s top brass in the final months of the season.

Boateng agreed to a one-year deal before the season began. He was written off because he was unable to make an impact.

However, a lot has changed since coach Felix Magath arrived. Boateng has emerged as a key player for Hertha in their fight to avoid relegation.

Thus the club are strongly contemplating handing the 35-year-old another deal, Ghanasoccernet.com can report.

Magath has put his trust in Boateng, and the veteran is repaying it by leading the team in their fight for survival.

“Prince is the decisive factor in the important games. His skills are now in demand. He has to lead us to stay up in the league,” Magath told BZ Berlin earlier.

“Prince can lead the team, brings structure, directs his team-mates, advances – the last few games have shown that impressively.

“From day one I wanted Prince to be on the pitch in the finals. That’s why I initially left him on the bench against teams with strong play. The risk of injury was too great. He should convince against Augsburg, Stuttgart and Bielefeld. And he did!”

Magath has a special relationship with Boateng dating back to when the Ghanaian started his career in Germany. Magath reveals Boateng is his son’s favourite player.

“My son has a Ghanaian national team jersey from Boateng hanging on the wall. He’s always liked the way he played,” he added.

Boateng has appeared in 17 games this season, but he could have played more if not for injuries.
