Ernest Yaw Anim has replaced the late Philip Atta Basoah as the Member of Parliament for Kumawu.
The by-election saw the New Patriotic Party (NPP) field Ernest Yaw Anim as their candidate whiles the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presented Kwasi Amankwaa as their candidate.
The other two independent candidates were Kwaku Duah and Kwaku Duah.
At the close of votes, Ernest Yaw Annim had a total of 15264 representing 70.91% of valid votes cast.
Kwasi Amankwaa placed a distant second with a total of 3723 votes, representing 17.29% of valid votes cast.
The votes of Kwaku Duah, who had contested as independent before took a heavy nose dive as he polled 2478 representing 11.51%
The other Kwaku Duah had 62 votes representing 0.29%
Total valid votes were 21527 representing 100% and rejected votes were 198.
