EPA To Plant Trees At Flood Prone Areas

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is planning to plant trees in waterlogged areas to protect life and properties.

This was disclosed by the Ashanti Regional Director for the EPA, Samuel Oteng.

Speaking on “The Privilege” Morning Show which was aired simultaneously on Wontumi Radio/TV, he said that the Agency will partner with the Forestry Commission and Parks and Gardens to embark on the project.

Samuel Oteng indicated that the project will start from the Greater Kumasi.

“We have identified about 120 flood areas in the Region so we will place signposts at those areas to serve as protection,” he affirmed.

The EPA Ashanti Regional Director stressed that any person who is caught destroying the trees would be apprehended.

Samuel Oteng urged all and sundry to support the project.
