Ensure That Our Lights Are Stable – Energy Minister To VRA Board
Energy Minister Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh has charged the newly constituted governing Board of the Volta River Authority (VRA) to ensure that the lights are stable to support Ghana’s economy.
Ghanaians have in the past and quiet recently been enduring blackouts caused by power supply shortage and expansion works.
This led to constant backlash from the citizenry.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new governing board of the VRA on 31 August 2021, Dr Prempeh stressed the importance of constant electricity for the daily lives of the citizenry and, therefore, charged the board to ensure the lights are on.
He also addressed the key area of intra-sector debts and made known his determination to ensure that it is eliminated, in order to enhance the liquidity of entities within the sector.
He pledged his utmost support to tackling of managerial, financial and technical challenges within the VRA.
