Emotional Letter To My MP, Hon . Mavis Nkansah Boadu — Eben (Chief Of Staff) Writes

Dear MP ,
The most memorable and emotional moment I had with you as my Member of Parliament(MP), was exactly a week ago, Friday 12th March, 2021, around 12:02am in the midnight, when I was on a phone call conversation with you, I vividly remember.

A time you could have alternatively chosen to comfortably sleep on your bed after a long day of budget reading on the floor of Parliament by Leader of Government Business, Minister of State in charge of Finance and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu.

An encounter I will always cherish and never want to forget in my life.

Honourable, am sorry I have to publicly do this, my innermost thoughts, feelings and convictions won’t allow me to keep this to myself.

As a former National Service Personel in the Parliament House of the Republic of Ghana, I know how it feels and what it takes for Parliamentarians to even attend to only one constituent in addressing his/her issues or concerns not alone, the concerns of over 60,000 constituents of Afigya Sekyere East Constituency.

It’s for this motive, I decided to passionately and emotionally pen down these pieces to you.

The astonishing part of this very particular moment, was when you were persistently trying to get in touch with me through a phone call but, for a reason unknown to you, you couldn’t reach me.

You didn’t end there, you humbly texted me through a WhatsApp messenger that I should call you after many times of trying to reach me through a call.

The emotional aspect of this encounter that actually triggered this long but, crucial writeup of mine, was when i finally placed the call on you at the very hour of the said midnight, wasn’t because you wanted me to assist you perform a task within the constituency, rather the call was to advise and encourage me on certain matters of interest in my personal life as a young man coming up.

This, I would say, was a life changing moment for me, more than the value of the worth of an amount of money and other valuable tangible assets.

Just as have been consistently saying, that though, some people choose to call you ” Queen of Projects ” due to your unmatched record of infrastructural development in the history of Afigya Sekyere East Constituency, others call you ” Rosalinda ” undoubtedly, because of your gorgeousness and beauty, but preferably, i passionately would want to call you ” Mother For All “. Regardless of one’s background or status, you still open up especially,to the young ones like me, a normal boy from Jamasi/Tabre.

Cordially,
Ebenezer K.M Okyere
(President, Jamasi Youth Patriots)
