ELECTION 2020: The Downfall Of A Man Not The End Of His Life- Popular Chief Consoles Mahama
A respected Chief, Etwienana Baffour Oteatuoso Kokoben II, has consoled the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) saying that ”the downfall of a man is not the end of his life.”
He said that, nobody can predict what tomorrow may bring and that John Mahama has enough years ahead of him to contest the Presidential seat again if this year’s election does go in his favour.
In an interview on Wontumi Radio/TV Nana Oteatuoso indicated that, it is not in Ghana’s constitution neither is it part of our laws for a contender in an election to congratulate the winning candidate.
“If John Mahama says he has not congratulated anybody, it is not an issue. The most important thing is that Ghanaians have decided.” He said
Nana Oteatuoso said, former President, John Mahama, commands a lot of respect as a former President so he should let that respect be consolidated.
The Akyem Royal unequivocally stated that, “John Mahama cannot do anything and that any attempt to disturb the peace will quickly be nibbed in the bud.”
According to Nana Oteatuoso, reputable election observers including CODEO and the NCCE have both concluded that the election was successful.
“Dr. Henry Herbert Lartey of the GCPP and Kofi Akpaloo of LPG have both congratulated President Akufo-Addo” He said
Nana Oteatuoso is strongly of the view that the election “is a done deal for the NPP and that nothing can change the course.”
He called on Ghanaians to exercise restraint for the declaration of the results.
