Ejisu Queen Mother Urges Parents To Prioritize Ward’s

Education

The Queen mother of Ejisu, Nana Yaa Asantewaa II has urged parents to prioritize the education of their children.

She said education is the best legacy every parent can bequeath to the children.

The Queen mother was speaking at media launch of the 2021 Ghana UK-Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards.

She explained that education comes with vast importance adding that it is out of it that a country develops.

For her part GUBA Manager, Claudia Andrews said 2021 is the centenary of the death of Yaa Asantewaa who still remains a powerful symbol in the world.

She noted that GUBA Enterprise, through GUBA Awards 2021, will celebrate Yaa Asantewaa and all women for their positive impact in society and the diaspora.

According to Claudia Andrews, this has informed the theme for GUBA Awards 2021, “Celebrating A Symbol Of Courage And Resilience.”

She said 2021 is also the year the world recovers from the devastating Covid-19 pandemic.

Claudia Andrews called on the world, especially business and political leaders, to look up to Yaa Asantewaa for inspiration as they come to terms with the effects of the pandemic.

She reiterated that GUBA Enterprise recognizes Yaa Asantewaa as the embodiment of courage, good leadership and resilience saying these are attributes which are required to steer the respective counties onto the path of progress.

According to Claudia Andrews, the Awards will most importantly, honour individuals, groups and corporations who took up the leadership mantle when the world crumbled to it’s knees and with courage and resilience like that of Yaa Asantewaa, made positive impacts when all hope seemed lost.
