ECOWAS Check Reveals President Akufo-Addo Has Won Election 2020- Chairman Wontumi

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) have conducted their background checks and realized that Ghanaians would extend President Akufo-Addo tenure, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has revealed.

It is for this reason, ECOWAS, nominated President Akufo-Addo as their new Chairman, Mr. Antwi-Boasiako, revealed on the Wontumi Morning Show.

“President Nana Akufo-Addo has already won the 2020 elections. If ECOWAS should give him his new role as Chairman at this time, it tells you that they have done their background check and realized that Nana Akufo-Addo would win again as President”, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi said.

President Akufo-Addo’s nomination as Chairman of ECOWAS would positively impact on his bid to run for office for the second time, Mr. Antwi-Boasiako, observed.

He disclosed that the new achievement of President Akufo-Addo, who he described as the current President of West Africa, didn’t come on silver platter but through hard work.

Chairman Wontumi observed that the other heads of state have seen something good in the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and this has led to them nominating him as their new Chairman.

“The whole of West Africa would shift their attention to Ghana. They would help President Nana Akufo-Addo to win because they know he has what it takes to develop West Africa”, Chairman Wontumi said.

ECOWAS yesterday elected the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as Chairman of the body.

His nomination was announced at the 57th ECOWAS Summit which was held at Niamey in Mali on Monday, September 7, 2020.

President Akufo-Addo led a Ghanaian delegation to the 57th Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government.

The meeting of the Heads of State will discuss matters the COVID-19 situation in West Africa, the ECOWAS Single Currency Programme, and the political impasse in Mali.

They also considered reports form the 44th Ordinary Session of the Mediation and Security Council at the Ministerial Level, and the 84th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers, which preceded the Summit.
