Kwame Baa Mensa, Head of Monitoring at the National Sports Authority (NSA), has said that the e-levy is the best form of policy to revamp the country’s revenue.
He made this known during an interview on Movement In The Morning Political Show.
He said “Ghanaians should be discerning enough to appreciate the good works of President Akufo- Addo. If not for the outbreak of the pandemic, Nana Addo would have taken Ghana to the next level. Ghana beyond aid is about we understanding and appreciating ourselves, and our individual contributions for the growth of the country”.
“The country is at a very critical stage where we needed to go back to our indigenous solution and that brought about the electronic levy. Mahama should have told Ghanaians how he was going to build the economy after covid 19 if he should get the opportunity to lead which is not possible. His team should have researched on a better alternative approach to re-building the economy to give Ghanaians the chance to analyze for election 2024 but saying he will repeal e-levy it was a wrong move”.
He added that it is very important for the NPP to break the eight, to prevent the NDC from revoking the free SHS policy and other social policies.
“As a national service person at Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) , I witnessed leakages in our revenue generation system. A lot of people walk about without paying taxes”, he indicated.
He encouraged Ghanaians to support the levy.
