Dumping Of Plastic Materials Dangerous To Humans Health- EPA
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has urged the general public to desist from dumping waste materials at unnecessary places.
According to them, the dumping of the waste materials at awful places are dangerous to humans health.
Speaking exclusively with wontumionline.com during the second launch of Africa Environmental Health Pollution, the Deputy Executive Director for the EPA, Mr. Ebenezer Appah Sarpong, said that, the electronic wastes can be sent to waste management center to be recycled for human benefit.
“The plastic wastes can also generate income,” he added
The EPA Deputy Executive Director revealed that, there would be education on pollution that the bad management of waste materials brings to humans lives.
“There would be demonstration projects to explain how the Environmental Health Pollution are harmful to people,” he insisted.
For his part, Mr. Samuel Oteng, Regional Director for EPA, noted that, the project will also look at the Mining sector how the small scale miners use mercury to extract gold from the land.
He said that, the Accra Environment Health Pollution and the Kumasi teams will monitor the activities of the small scale miners.
However, Mr. Oteng revealed that, there is a treatment plant in Accra for collecting the electronic items and recycle them.
