Three teacher unions have declared an industrial action over the failure of the government to meet the deadline to terminate the appointment of Dr Eric Nkansah as acting Director General of the Ghana Education Service(GES)
The Unions are the Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduates Teachers and Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana.
According to the Unions, Dr Eric Nkansah is not a teacher and therefore not an educationist.
But the Education Ministry has debunked these on the Wontumi Morning Show on Monday.
According to the Deputy Public Relations Officer, Yaw Opoku Mensah, Dr Eric Nkansah is a former facilitator of Christian International School and Kintampo Senior High School.
He said the acting GES Boss has been an educationist for 14 years.
He added that Dr Eric Nkansah is a former Director of Tertiary.
Yaw Opoku Mensah stressed that “if you combine his experience in the classroom and administrative role, it makes him unique to steer the affairs of the Service.
He affirmed that no former GES Director has the experience of Dr Eric Nkansah.
