The vice-president added that the National Communications Authority (NCA) is also engaging Benin and Gambia to establish similar bilateral agreements
Dr Bawumia joined key players in the telecommunications industry for the official launch of operations of Telecel Ghana, who have acquired majority ownership of the company, formerly known as Vodafone Ghana.
He urged them to uphold the highest standards of ethics, transparency and corporate governance, and also, to expand their network and be more innovative in their operations, in order to ensure accessible, safe, affordable and reliable network services to their customers.
Dr Bawumia also urged Telecel Ghana, and other stakeholders in the telcos and fintech industry, to, as part of their corporate social responsibilities, prioritise investing in the digital capacities of young Ghanaians, to contribute towards shaping the future of Ghana, as the country embraces the 4th Industrial Revolution.
