A communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Afriyie, has made a startling revelation that some individuals took advantage of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for personal gain.
In an interview with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi’s morning show, Dr. Afriyie stated that Dr. Bawumia allowed himself to be used by people seeking to amass wealth.
Dr. Afriyie claimed that these individuals have manipulated various situations for their benefit and are waiting for the right moment to capitalize on them. He emphasized the need for party members to be vigilant and address any misconduct by party executives.
“The party needs to be aware of these individuals and their intentions; We cannot allow them to continue exploiting Dr. Bawumia and the party for their own selfish interests, “Dr. Afriyie warned.
Dr. Afriyie also urged NPP committees to perform their duties effectively to avoid backlash from party members. He noted that some members did not vote in the previous elections due to the questionable actions of party executives and committees.
“It’s essential that we identify the reasons behind the low voter turnout and address them,” Dr. Afriyie said.
“We need to investigate the issues within the constituencies that may have deterred people from voting in the 2024 general elections.”
