Dormaahene Should’ve Written A Petition To The Pres. And Not The Medium He Used- Boakye Yiadom

Political Analyst, Boakye Yiadom has said that the Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Area Osagyefo Oseadeyo Dr. Agyeman Badu II, should have written a petition to the President, appealing for his intervention in the trial of James Gyakye Quayson, rather than using the platform he used.

He explained that making such an appeal to the first gentleman of the land, there was the need to do so with some sort of respect and thus, could have quietly delivered a petition to the office of the President which wouldn’t have been in the public domain.

“Left to me I would say although there was nothing wrong with the appeal by the Chief. However, I think he could have done it in a better and more courteous way rather than he did”, he spoke to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio

This comes after the Dormaahene had appealed to the Attorney-General (A-G), Godfred Yeboah Dame to drop the criminal charges against James Gyakye Quayson, the Member of Parliament-elect for Assin North.

The Dormaahene made the call whiles speaking at the Professor John Evans Atta Mills’ Commemorative Lecture in Sunyani.

He insisted that it was needless for the Attorney General to continue the case after the chiefs and people of the Assin North constituency have re-elected Quayson.

Mr. Yiadom was however quick to add that the if the President pays heed to the plea and intervenes, that doesn’t mean he listened to the NDC or because he fears them.
