Lawyer Maurice Ampaw is advising against pinning the fall of the Ghana Cedi on Vice President Bawumia noting that global activities are to be blamed for it.
The celebrity lawyer who spoke on his current affair show which airs on Wontumi TV every Sunday, explained that all promises that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) made to Ghanaians have been frustrated by COVID, the Russia-Ukraine war and some other global challenges.
“The fall of the cedi can’t be pinned on Bawumia”, he said.
He also took a swipe at people trading in dollars in Ghana when the Bank of Ghana has cautioned them to use the cedi noting that such transactions are “illegal”.
“People are doing business in dollar which is illegal and when the cedi is not performing you want to blame Bawumia. That is hypocrisy”, he said.
