Don’t Be A Social Media “Hero”, Go To Court With Your Evidence On Illegal Mining- Chairman Wontumi Tells Erastus Donkor
The owner of Akonta Mining Limited, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has challenged journalist Erastus Donkor to make public the names of Chinese illegal miners he claims works for his mines.
Erastus Asare Donkor is reported to have written on Facebook that “Many of the Chinese criminals who were making the river dirty told us on camera that they were working for Akonta Mining.”
But an astonished Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi challenged the journalist not to be a social media “hero” but proceed to court with evidence if he believes he is doing the right thing for the country.
Chairman Wontumi rebutted the claims and directly told Wontumi FM which was monitored by Wontumionline.com that “no Chinese man is working for me”.
“I am not working; I have stopped working for a very long time. So I am challenging Erastus, if he claims he has arrested anybody who has been caught engaging in illegal mining and claims is working for Akonta, he should send the person to court. I am challenging him. Akonta Mining is a legal mining company, but the only thing is that we are not working. We have all the documents just like AngloGold and others have”.
