Dollar Withdrawals: Isaac Adongo Speaks Like A Dog Suffering From Rabies Or Madness- Gordon
Top radio and TV presenter, Gordon Asare-Bediako, has reacted to news emanating from Hon. Isaac Adongo that the Bank of Ghana (BoG) would be intensifying restrictions on over-the-counter US dollar withdrawals from financial institutions.
The Bolgatanga Central Member of Parliament who is also a board member of BoG stated in an interview on an Accra based radio station that the move was part of efforts to curb cedi depreciation.
In disagreeing with the posture taken by Isaac Adongo, Gordon Asare-Bediako argued that it doesn’t lie in the mouth of a board member to speak on behalf of BoG.
“If they (BoG) want to bring out statements, they apply wisdom and knowledge because they don’t want to issue statements that would affect the performance of our currency”, he explained on Movement TV.
Gordon Asare-Bediako berated the MP for Bolgatanga Central for speaking like a “daft person” or a “dog suffering from madness” on the subject of over-the-counter US dollar withdrawals.
The respected broadcaster pointed out that the statement by Isaac Adongo has the propensity to create “fear and panic” and devalue the cedi.
“Adongo speaks likes a daft person, he speaks like a dog that is mad…he is very reckless, he speaks like a dog that is suffering from rabies. He doesn’t think before he talks”, he said.
