Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, President of Division One League club Elmina Sharks, has been fined GHS 10,000 and handed a suspended three-month ban by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee.
The punishment follows misconduct charges related to Elmina Sharks’ match against Swedru All Blacks United FC.
According to the Disciplinary Committee’s findings, Dr. Nduom was found guilty of interfering in the game, inciting players against match officials, and making social media comments that fueled hostility towards referees.
Reports indicate that he entered the technical area without authorization and aggressively confronted match officials after a contentious decision went against his team.
His post-match remarks on social media further intensified tensions, as they were deemed to be inflammatory criticisms of officiating.
The committee has warned that any future violations could lead to harsher sanctions, including a possible stadium ban.
In addition, Elmina Sharks have been instructed to educate their management and staff on maintaining respect for match officials and upholding the integrity of the game.
Dr. Nduom has seven days to appeal the decision.
