The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Adenta, honourable Daniel Alexander Nii Noi Adumuah, has disclosed what he believes led to the loss of the NPP’s seat in the Adenta constituency in the 2020 elections.
In an exclusive interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Political Show, the MCE explained that although investigations are still underway to ascertain what led to the loss of the seat, he can attribute it to the disunity and faction among party members in the constituency.
He said, “there are alot of factions in the constituency even among party members. The elections for executives in the constituency was even cancelled at a point in time; the tension of people were raised and there was no time to heal wounds. I was told that a lot of people including party members hinted they will vote skirt and blouse during the 2020 elections although I didn’t hear it myself. ”
According to him, the lost of seat in the Constituency can never be attributed to underdevelopment because since the assumption of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in power, ,there have been a lot of developmental projects within the constituency.
“We have built a hospital-the Ogbojo clinic which was built from scratch. We have tried to build at least a single school in all 12 electoral areas within the constituency which we have already started. We’ve the Adjiringanor astroturf park which is kind courtesy Ghana Gas, we’ve built health posts as well as ensure every single school within the constituency has a toilet facility. Also, more than 4000 to 5000 toilet facilities have been built in many homes in Adenta to end open defecation”, he stated.
