December Polls: Elephant To Trample Over The Umbrella @ Elembele- DCE
Hon. Kwasi Bonzoh, the District Chief Executive for Elembele Constituency has expressed high hopes that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would for once emerge victorious and occupy the Elembelle Parliamentary seat come the December elections. .
According to him, the NPP came very close to winning the area’s Parliamentary seat 2016 elections by losing with a margin of 2,500 of the total votes cast.
Hon. Bonzoh told Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi Radio/TV’s Election 2020 political programme that, he was the first NPP Candidate tocontest the Parliamentary seat on an NPP ticket but his adversaries moistly some some NDC members made his candidature irrelevant by saying He was representing an “Asante Party” and called for his total rejection which
“The false accusations went against me but I can confess that the most popular party in Elembele Constituency currently is the NPP.” He indicated.
“Insha Allah, for the first time NPP will win the Parliamentary seat and get its own MP to assist Nana Akufo-Addo to continue giving the area a deserving facelift.” Hon. Bonzoh affirmed
He said that, he never knew the work load attached to his responsibilities as a DCE would be so cumbersome until he assumed office;
He bemoaned that, the NDC, in their eight year regime could not even construct a single 1km Cocoa road in the area.
“Elembele is a cocoa growing area. The farmers find it difficult to ply the road but the NDC couldn’t fix the poor road networks.” He indicated
He noted that, former President John Agyekum Kufour was the first statesman to construct a cocoa road in the area.
Hon. Bonzoh said that, from Esiama to Nkroful which is the hometown of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, is just 4km road but the NDC couldn’t also rehabilitate it.
