December Elections: Not This Time; NPP Vows To Grab Sefwi-Bodi Parliamentary Seat- DCE
Chief Executive of Sefwi-Bodi District, Hon. Ignatius Kwasi Amankwaa, has hinted that, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will by all means snatch the area’s Parliamentary seat from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) come the December election
.
According to him, the NDC have monopolized the Parliamentary seat since ’92 . The current Member of Parliament for the area is Hon Sampson Ahi.
Hon. Amankwaa who was speaking on Wontumi TV and Radio 101.3 political programme dubbed Election 2020, on Tuesday said that he was very ecstatic when the Electoral Commission (EC) decided f to compile a new voters’ register because about 65% of the 68,000 which is the total population of the area registered in the 2012 exercise.
” The old register contained about 40,800 names as eligible voters for the general election in 2012 but it has currently been reduced drastically to 32,700.” He told Oheneba Nana Asiedu, host of the programme
According to the Sefwi-Bodi DCE, all the ghost names in the register have been erased and that there would be free and fair election come December with clear signs that the NPP will this time around, grab the seat from the NDC.
“Since God’s has a hand in our efforts , we will definitely win the Sefwi-Bodi Parliamentary seat.” Hon. Amankwaa re-emphasized
