Dec. Polls: Atwima Nwabiagya North Will Look At Your Good Works And Help You- Barekesehene Assures Akufo-Addo
Okofo Amoampem Brenya, Barekesehene says the people of Atwima Nwabiagya North especially, those at Barekese have acknowledged the fulfillment of promises by President Akufo-Addo.
According to him the people of Atwima Nwabiagya have come to realize that all the promises the President made were not merely for political expediency.
“Your good works will lead you. The people will look at your good works especially, the introduction of the free SHS, and thank you on December 7.” He told President Akufo-Addo During the commissioning of the 2-storey District Administration Block monitored by Nana Owusu Achiaw
The Barekesehene noted that, he gave out a 43 acre piece of land for the construction of the District Administration Block and 10-15 acres of land to build the District Hospital and described the two infrastructural projects as very pleasing.
He noted the District Administration Block Nana Akufo-Addo has built for them is a gesture meant to honour the people.
He said the Infrastructural projects being constructed for both the Barekese and Osei Tutu II Senior High Schools “are beyond imagination”. adding that the government appointees in the area “are performing creditably.”
He appealed to the President to elevate the status of the MP for the area, Hon. Benito Owusu Bio, from a Deputy Minister to a substantive Minister.
Nana Amoampem Brenya however, complained about the deplorable nature of the road network in the area as well as erosion which has devastated most communities;
He said that, work on rehabilitation of Barekese town road has been abysmal and appealed to the President to re-award the contract.
The Chief also drew the President ‘s attention to the rate of encroachment of lands reserved for the construction of the various offices of government departments and agencies in the districts and appealed to the authorities to put in place measures to develop them as soon as possible.
Nana Amoampem Brenya raised an alarm about the gradual destruction of the Barekese Dam which serves as source of water to many households in the Region through encroachment and reckless disposal of waste and suggested that some thing urgent must be done about the problem.
