Day Two Of Chairman Wontumi’s Door To Door Campaign Attracts Huge Crowd
The Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako on Wednesday again led a high powered regional New Patriotic Party (NPP)executives to continue the historic retail campaign programme in Kumasi.
The exercise which started in a whirlwind fashion yesterday took Chairman Wontumi and his delegation comprising top constituency executive members to the Central Business District (CBD) Kumasi and the Bode Market in the Tafo Nhyiaeso area. It attracted a huge crowd.
The same scenario of teeming party supporters in a joyful mood leaving their wares to meet Chairman Wontumi and his team again occasioned today’s exercise which took them to Bantama, Race Course and Agogo Markets. Popular actor, Kofi Adu, fondly called Agya Koo, joined the official delegation to make an input to resonate the simple but far-reaching campaign message: “Four more Four Nana to do more“.
The theme for the address by the various speakers with Chairman Wotumi leading the “assault” prominently featured the “Dumsor” legacy left behind by the John Mahama administration for Nana Addo to inherit.
“Ghanaians should not forget one of the darkest moments in the nation’s history when close to five years they had to endure the irritating discomfort that goes with long period power outages. The economic loss to the populace as a result of the blackouts cannot be quantified.” He stressed.
According to Chairman Wontumi, a vote for John Mahama means “Ghanaians are again going to encounter another round of the Dumsor nightmare so they should not vote for the NDC’s flag bearer who failed to provide the much-needed solution to the energy crisis.”
Chairman Wontumi spoke about the government’s social intervention programmes , prominent among them being the free Senior High School (SHS)and initiatives such as the Planting for Food And Jobs, the One District One Factory, One District One dam among others which have given a lot of hope for Ghanaians
The crowd which became uncontrollable at some point nearly limited the exercise to the streets. However, after a hectic crowd control maneuvers by the few policemen around and other NPP supporters, Chairman Wontumi and his team including the Ashanti Regional Women’s Organizer, Nana Amma Ampomaa, managed to arrive at the various destinations to disseminate “the good news” about the NPP’s numerous achievements and why Nana Addo should be given four more years to rule the country.
