Customs To Embark On Tax Education Campaign In Ashanti

 

The new Sector Commander for Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) in the Ashanti Region, Mr Edmund Omari has said that he will embark on a vigorous tax education camping to sensitize the people in the Region on tax payment.

According to him a sensitize public will definitely be compliant to tax payment to lessen the burden of tax collectors.

Mr Edmund Omari, the new Sector Commander said this Tuesday, 8th March 2022 at the forecourt of the Ashanti Regional CEPS office at a ceremony to usher him into office as the new Ashanti Regional commander after the pullout of Mr Opoku Kwarteng.

In his speech, Mr Omari indicated that the target for Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for this year to support government development Agenda is 80.3 billion cedis of which the customs portion is about 20.1 billion and is quite a huge task.

But he added that with a concerted effort from the officers they can achieve the target to the admiration of all Ghanaians just as they did last year to exceed their target which was acknowledged by the President.

He assured that the Ashanti Region will do its best to achieve the target for 2022.

Commander Omari thanked his predecessor, Mr Opoku Kwarteng for exceeding the target for last year and called for the same support from the staff in the Region for him to succeed.
