COVID-19: GHS Begins House To House Vaccination Tomorrow(VIDEO)
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced that it will from tomorrow, Tuesday, 2/02/2022 begin house to house COVID-19 vaccination.
This was announced by the The Programme Manager for the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) at the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Kwame Amponsah Achiano in an interview on Wontumi Radio Morning Show.
Kwame Amponsah Achiano told the host of the Show, Oheneba Nana Asiedu that the exercise forms part of the government’s effort to curtail the spread of the virus.
He revealed that the exercise will end on Sunday, 6/02/2022.
He said the GHS is seeking to deploy 2.5 million vaccines within the period adding the vaccination is free of charge.
Kwame Amponsah Achiano indicated that the prime target of persons to be vaccinated are pregnant women and those who received only the first jab.
“Last year we expected to vaccinate about 20 million Ghanaians but unfortunately we couldn’t achieve our target.
He disclosed that currently about 7.5 million people have been vaccinated.
