Coronavirus: Ghana Records Six Delta Variants- Dr. Nsiah Asare
The Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr Anthony Nsiah Asare has disclosed that Ghana has detected six Delta variants of COVID-19 so far.
He said, the variants were confirmed from samples taken from passengers at the Kotoka International Airport.
Dr. Nsiah Asrae said on Wontumi Radio and TV Morning Show that, no Delta variant has been detected from samples taken from cases in the community.
Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, appealed to Ghanaians not to panic as the new variant of COVID-19 has been detected.
According to him, the Delta (Indian Variant) is not new disease in the system.
The Presidential Advisor on Health told Nana Konadu Abu Prah that, it is not true the AstraZenica and Sputnik V vaccines are not effective against the Indian variant.
According to him, UK has detected the Delta Strain and those who got vaccinated did not die when they contracted the Delta Strain.
“Everybody should be vaccinated to protect himself and others,” he urged.
