COPs Trying To Sabotage Dampare From Within Must Stop- NPP Chairman

Defending Cecilia Dapaah Would Make Us Look Like “Fools”- Ahafo Regional Chairman Of NPP
Chairman Owusu Sekyere

The Ahafo regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Owusu Sekyere, has advised against sabotaging the Inspector General of Police (IGP) from within the Police Service.

“Those senior officers in the police trying to sabotage him should stop. The COPs should stop doing that because Dampare would not always be at post, he will go for another person to come”, he warned.

Speaking in an interview with Oheneba on the Wontumi Morning Show, Chairman Kwabena Owusu Sekyere stated that he is saddened by the alleged leaked tape making rounds about forcing the IGP to step down.

He continued that it is gradually becoming a norm for saboteurs to wage internal war with their leaders who wish to bring positive changes at their workplace and advised that the culture must not be encouraged.

“Why is it that whoever we give position to in this country when he wants to bring changes at the authority he works at, we get people trying to sabotage him?…

I don’t agree to everything our IGP has done, but look at the police visibility in the country. This wasn’t the case sometime before. In my region Ahafo region when it comes to elections, it is a hot spot but now we have police visibility here . Today investors can come to the country and in Accra you will see them (police) visible everywhere”, he said.
