The assistant Secretary for Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Michael Otoo Addo, has advised President Akufo-Addo to consider Dr. Mike Oquaye Jnr to replace Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo as the Gender Minister.
Mike Oquaye Jnr is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Ghana Free Zones Authority and wrestled with Hon. Adwoa Safo for the Dome Kwabenya seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection was re-elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome Kwabenya constituency in the 2020 general elections.
In recent times, she has been absenting herself from parliamentary proceedings with the justification that her child is sick abroad. She was last seen on duty in December 2021, however, she has been present on TikTok- a video sharing app.
Several people including her party members took to social media to speak against the conduct of the MP leading some to even petition President Akufo-Addo to replace her especially at the Gender Ministry.
Michael Otoo while speaking on the issue on Movement In The Morning Show with Kwaku Dawuro said, ‘’If the President wants to consider anyone for the Gender Ministry, he should consider Mike Oquaye Jnr. I know his capabilities and he can do the job”.
He added that the President must act swiftly.
