A senior aide to the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Andy Owusu has described Alan Kyerematen as a micer who didn’t even bother to gift the party sachet water popularly referred to as “pure water” in Ashanti region.

Mr. Owusu said on the Wontumi Morning Show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com that despite the riches the former Trade Minister possesses, he hardly helps the party per the records he has.

Alan has benefitted from the party more than anybody. He was Cabinet Minister under Kufuor for 8 years and again Cabinet Minister under Nana Addo for 7 years. We have sat at the party’s office for 8 years but he has never given us even ‘pure water’ just like SK Boafo or Addo Kufuor”, he said.

Alan officially submitted his resignation letter indicating he was no longer interested in being a member of theNPP on Monday [September 25, 2023].

Immediately after that, he addressed a press conference and announced his decision to contest 2024 as an independent candidate.

He is now forming a movement, called “Movement for Change” with a Monarch Butterfly as the symbol.

In a related development, the Ashanti regional Chairman for the NPP, Chairman Wontumi has directed all Constituency Chairmen in Ashanti region to immediately remove all Alan Kyerematen branded items from all party offices.

In a memo sent to all Constituency Chairmen and copied to Wontumionline.com and Movementtvonline.com, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that “In view of Hon. Alan Kyerematen’s resignation from the party, all his posters, banners, flyers and paraphernalia at our party offices in all the constituencies must be removed with immediate effect.”
