Chairman Wontumi’s GH₵50 Million Bail Condition To Be Challenged In Court- Lawyer Andy Appiah
The legal team for Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is set to challenge the GH₵50 million bail bond imposed on their client.
Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi described the bail condition as “too harsh and unfair,” stating that it is outrageous to demand properties valued at such a high amount.
Speaking on Wontumi TV, Kubi revealed that the legal team is working to have the bail conditions reviewed. “The bail condition is too harsh and unfair. Getting people with properties valued at GH₵50 million is too outrageous. We are working on that,” he said. If the review is unsuccessful, the team will proceed to court to seek a revision of the bail terms.
“We are making arrangements today to ensure the bail condition is reviewed,” Kubi added, emphasizing the team’s determination to secure a more favorable outcome for Chairman Wontumi.
