“I remember what you discussed with me. We are not only helping him to win November 4th, we are helping him to win as the next President in 2024”, a heart broken Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi has said as he remembers a meeting he had with the late Chairman Adams Mahama.
A courageous Chairman Wontumi broke down in tears on stage as he remembered the vision he shared with the late NPP Chairman about making sure Bawumia becomes a future President.
“Today I am glad, Chairman Adams wherever you are, I am glad to say that I have supported Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia”, Chairman Wontumi said.
Addressing a mammoth rally held to climax the campaign of Bawumia at the Upper East region, Chairman Wontumi stated that in the year 2016, the late Adams Mahama told him they ought to prepare the grounds for Bawumia to succeed President Akufo-Addo after his tenure comes to an end.
“I met him (Chairman Adams) and he told me one thing; if you want Nana Addo to become President in 2016, I also Dr. Bawumia to succeed him”, Chairman Wontumi said.
Adams Mahama suffered severe bodily injuries after a substance suspected to be acid was allegedly poured on him in front of his house in Bolgatanga on May 20, 2015.
He later died from the injuries at the Bolgatanga General Hospital.
