When the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was in a mess, unattractive and needed a courageous leader, Chairman Wontumi stepped in to change the tides, a member of party has said.
His comment is to remind the NPP to maintain their Ashanti regional Chairman and not to fall for orchestrated calls by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to use certain people to kick Chairman Wontumi out.
According to him Chairman Wontumi sacrificed a lot to get the NPP out of the gutters and must be rewarded for it.
“When the party is in power, anybody at all can be interested in leadership but it takes a genius to identify that he has to work to take the party from opposition to power.”
“This is what Chairman Wontumi stands for, he saw interest in the party when the party was in opposition, mess and unattractive. He brought his resources and engineered to bring the party to power”, he said.
