A presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has slammed former President John Mahama for spreading falsehood about the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the NPP, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako.
Addressing a crowd at final rally that was held to support Charles Opoku at Assin Breku, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong stated that it was lie for Mr. John Mahama to say that Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi was in the area to promote galamsey.
Hon. Agyapong who is currently the Member of Parliament for Assin Central stated that the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for the impending by-election, is an Electrical Engineer with Gold Fields and there is no way he would promote galamsey.
“Charles Opoku is an Electrical Engineer with Gold Fields- the biggest surface mining company in West Africa. Mahama said at Akropong Odumasi that this gentleman wants to engage in galamsey that is why Wontumi is here to stay with us. That Wontumi wants to partner him for galamsey, is this a campaign message to promote?” he asked.
