Former Member of Parliament for Tema East, Titus Glover has described Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako alias Chairman Wontumi as an institution within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The former MP in an interview with Oheneba on the Wontumi Morning Show, called on the party to protect Chairman Wontumi at all cost if the party intends to make more gains politically.
“I wish he is not even touched. What he can do, you can’t do it”, he simply said about Wontumi.
In comparing the work rate of other persons who have picked up various positions in the NPP to that of Chairman Wontumi, Hon. Glover stated that unlike Chairman Wontumi, the others sleep on the job they have been given by the party.
“In this game of politics, some people just come and take positions and they go to sleep”, he said on Wontumi TV.
He further described Chairman Wontumi as “a pillar in Ashanti region; he is a voice. He is an institution that commands multitudes.”
In his view when the party opens nomination for people to vie and contest for various positions, there must be a plan to ensure that some old faces are kept at post whilst new ones come in.
“We don’t need to throw away all of our soldiers during an election, we need to keep some old faces to blend with the new faces”, Hon. Titus Glover advised.
