Chairman Wontumi Has Never Been the Favorite in Elections, Yet Always Wins – Oheneba Nana Asiedu
Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a journalist with Wontumi FM/TV, has made a bold statement regarding his boss, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
According to him, Chairman Wontumi has never entered an election as the favorite yet has consistently emerged victorious.
Speaking on Wontumi FM/TV, Oheneba recounted that when Chairman Wontumi transitioned from a constituency chairman to contest for the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), all available polls and research ranked him as the least preferred candidate. Despite these odds, he won the election and has maintained his stronghold in the region.
Chairman Wontumi has officially declared his intention to contest for the National Chairmanship position of the NPP once nominations are opened.
Addressing doubts within the party regarding Wontumi’s leadership capacity, Oheneba asserted that Chairman Wontumi does not require poll data or public endorsements to win elections.
He further observed that while many Ghanaians know Chairman Wontumi through television and radio appearances, they have not experienced his positive impact firsthand.
“Unfortunately, some people attack him based on what they see on social media, without truly understanding who he is,” he added.
Oheneba announced plans to embark on a tour across all 16 regions of Ghana to share Chairman Wontumi’s story and give the public the opportunity to engage with him directly.
He also encouraged supporters of Chairman Wontumi to remain focused on their campaign and to disregard negative comments from both within and outside the party.
He advised Wontumi’s supporters to respect other aspirants, concentrate on spreading his message, and refrain from retaliating against attacks.
According to him, maintaining discipline and unity during the campaign will make it easier to bring all aspirants together for a united front in the 2028 general elections.
