Chairman Wontumi Didn’t Suffer Mild Stroke; He Refused Food And Water For 5 Days- Hon. Oduro

Hon. George Oduro has shut down rumours that Chairman Wontumi feigned suffering mild stroke to escape the grips of EOCO.

The former Member of Parliament for the New Edubease Constituency has given clarity on events leading to the Ashanti regional Chairman becoming pale and needing help to move around after being released from EOCO.

According to Hon. George Oduro, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi refused to eat food or drink water whilst in the custody of EOCO leading to his drastic change in appearance.

His comments were to refute false claims by the Member of Parliament for Garu, Dr Thomas Anabah, who accused Chairman Wontumi of feigning illness to evade justice.

The NDC legislator is on record to have said that Chairman is pretending to have suffered stroke.

“There shouldn’t be any sympathy. There is no stroke in him. He’s just pretending”, he said.

But Oduro questioned the medical background of the NDC legislator and expressed shock at his posture. “I will be surprised if he is a medical doctor”, he said.

He reiterated that Chairman Wontumi “didn’t suffer mild stroke” and blamed his change in appearance on the food and water he refused for days.

“He refused food and water for five (5) days”, Hon. Oduro said.

He continued that “naturally if you don’t drink water for three days, you will break down, but for 5 days he hadn’t had anything. Why would he fake?”
