The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Partriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has blessed Pastor Eastwood Anaba for saying something positive about Ashantis.
His commendation to Eastwood Anaba, comes shortly after he had blasted former President John Mahama for insulting Ashantis.
The NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi told Wontumionline.com that “God bless Pastor Eastwood Anaba and his family for saying something good about Ashantis”.
Pastor Eastwood Anaba has described Ashanti region as an area that stands unique among all the regions in Ghana.
In a sermon he delivered at Kumasi dubbed “Prophetic and Apostolic Invasion”, the Founder of Fountain Gate Chapel International said that there is something special about Ashanti region and should therefore be handled in high esteem.
He said “for some reason you don’t know why a lot of Prophets originate from this region (Ashanti region)”.
He stressed that “Why is it that all the Prophets are coming from Ashanti region? I think we should also go to the Bible and ask why all the Priests were from the tribe of Levi. God could have chosen them from Judah. God could have chosen them from Dan. God could have chosen them from Gad. There is something about this region. God just decided that you know what I want this particular gift to come from this region”.
Before his sermon, former President John Mahama was reported to have said something bad about Ashantis.
It was reported that Mr. Mahama had said that “Don’t be like Ashanti region. They are emotionally attached to the NPP that they don’t even think before voting for them. Don’t be like them. Your party and your son has led Ghana into a ditch, be bold to vote against them. Be different. Come back to the NDC in 2024 and we won’t neglect you this time”.
But Chairman Wontumi referenced the latest single by Daddy Lumba to reply him by stating that it is only a low lifer like Mr. John Mahama who is emotionally attached to “silly comments”.
Chairman Wontumi asserted that for having the nerves to insult Ashantis, he was going to mobilize voters from the Ashanti region to vote massively against the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a direct warning to the 2020 flagbearer of the NDC, Chairman Wontumi said: “Mahama you can insult Ashantis but we will show you pepper. You can insult anybody you want to but if you insult Ashantis, God will not forgive you.”
