CCC Supports Ghana Blind Union With 200 White Canes.
Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), the famous Charismatic Church in Kumasi under the auspices of Mewura Boafo Foundation, a non-governmental organisation(NGO) founded by the late first lady of the church, Mrs Joyce Obeng has presented 200 pieces of white canes to the Ghana Blind Union.
The gesture by the Foundation Friday morning, was to assist persons within the Union to become mobile.
Presenting the canes to the group at a brief ceremony at the premises of CC at Ayigya, a suburb of the Asokore Mampong Municipality, Reverend Ransford Obeng, General Overseer of CCC expressed happiness to be able to help the needy.
He noted that the desire of the church and that of the Foundation established by his deceased wife is to give to support persons who are helpless in society.
Reverend Obeng assured the group that the church would supply more of the canes when the distributor receive new stock.
“Our aim as a church is to do good and to also lead the way to support people who are helpless while allowing our deeds to encourage people that there is hope in Christ for all”, Reverend Obeng noted.
PEACE:
Reverend Obeng used the occasion to advise leaders of political parties to preach peace to their followers while campaigning.
He said once the leaders have on various occasions professed to be Christians it was needful that they conscientize their followers to pursue peace.
The CCC leader said both the utterances and actions of leaders should show clearly that they are for peace ahead of the December 7 general elections.
He posited that once there were vulnerable people like persons with visual impairment everything should be done to prevent the occurrence or semblance of violence.
“I have heard the political heads professing to be Christians and that makes it binding on them to preach peace to their followers so that we as a people can guard the peaceful atmosphere we have in Ghana jealously even before the 2020 polls”, Rev Obeng urged.

George Kyeremateng, President of the Ghana Blind Union of Ghana-Ashanti Chapter thanked CCC for the gesture.
He said the volume of the canes spoke clearly that the church loved persons with sight difficulty.
On his part, Ivan Heathcote Fumador, Project Coordinator for the Union said to have the leader of CCC commit political parties to peace meant he has the vulnerable in mind .
He urged other churches to emulate the example of CCC and donate to support the needy, especially the visually impaired in communities of Ghana.
