The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Hon. Patrick Boamah has indicated that the Presidential appointments by President Mahama on Monday Jan 20, is a violation of the law. According to him, section 41 of the presidential office Act, 1993, Acts 463 indicates that such appointments are to be made in consultation with the Council of state. However, the Council of State is not currently in place, and as such, the President’s appointments should have been accompanied by a statement clarifying that they were pending the Council’s composition.
